General Internist for a primary care position in Shelton, Washington. Shelton is a beautiful place to live and enjoy the outdoors. We are located on Puget Sound at the foot of the Olympic Mountains. This site may be eligible for Federal or State loan repayment. It is also eligible for J-1 visa applicants.

Who are we?
Olympic Physicians is a group of 5 Physicians, 1 PA-C's, and 1 ARNP that care for the needs of patients in the community of Shelton. Our goal is to provide quality care in a compassionate way to all our patients. We are well respected in our community for our efforts and leadership in Quality Improvement projects. As a part of our commitment to quality we participate in the Washington State Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Preventive Health Services Collaboratives. Dr. Schlauderaff, our Medical Director, was named 2001 Washington State Rural Physician of the year for our efforts. Our providers meet each week to learn from each other and develop teamwork. Our practice has been designated a rural health clinic. This allows us to serve all economic groups. We are committed to serving Medicare and Medicaid patients. We are here to serve our patients.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a board certified (or eligible) Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Peds/Internist that share our commitment and values to join our team of caring providers in the community of Shelton. We share call with a group of internists and family practitioners. The new provider will be providing a combination of inpatient and outpatient care during the week.  We currently have a hospitalist that provides weekend coverage.

What type of care do we provide?
We provide primary care for our patients from young to old. We admit our own patients to the local 68-bed full service hospital, Mason General - http://www.masongeneral.com/ that is located across the street. There is a staffed ER, and an ICU. Each of the doctors works in the clinic 4 days per week with office hours from 8 AM to 12:30 and 1:30 to approximately 5pm. The problems we see in the office are varied. Each doctor rounds on
his or her own patients during the week with hospitalist coverage on weekends. We share call with the other providers in Shelton. We are close enough to Olympia that the specialists are willing to back us up as needed, but far enough away that we can actually do what we are trained to do. This is one of the things physicians like most about our community. The freedom to do what you are trained to do.

Community Highlights:
Shelton is a community of 8,000 with a service area of around 50,000. Mason County has been one of the fastest growing counties in Washington State. We are 25 minutes from Olympia. We are at the southern entrance to the Olympics and home to many lakes and miles of saltwater frontage. There are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
